On 21 June 2016 we published a new project monograph: "Noor Island - Realms of Imagination".
3deluxe has transformed a small, fallow island in the middle of the Emirate of Sharjah into a transmedially staged landscape park with an ensemble of pavilions, buildings and objects. The result is a fascinating new type of urban public space that provides residents of the adjacent globalized metropolis with a modern inner-city oasis.
The volume, published by Frame Publishers, is richly illustrated, elaborately designed and features essays by renowned guest authors.
"Noor Island - Realms of Imagination" varies significantly from traditional architecture books and presents the project in a purely subjective rather than a documentary style. When designing Noor Island, too, 3deluxe proceeded very intuitively and gave precedence to associative and emotional aspects of design. Their main focus was to contribute to the urban quality of living in the middle of Sharjah.
The most striking building on Noor Island is the Butterfly Pavilion, whose ornamental golden shading roof characterizes the island. Numerous other installations, light and media objects and unusual plants blend into a holistic, multi-sensory experience and offer visitors numerous opportunities for contemplation and recreation.

"As always, we have designed between and across divides, and the result is a kind of vibrant hybrid of architecture book and skater magazine. The book demonstrates our design, planning and production processes, our tools for arriving at design and form, our love of rich detail and experimenting with materials, not to mention the precision with wich we undertake the planning of our projects."
