In the dynamic realm of cruise ship design, 3deluxe unveils Surfside, a groundbreaking neighborhood tailored specifically for families and children. As the designated neighborhood architect, 3deluxe was not only responsible for the overall design of the neighborhood itself and some of its key venues, but also assigned to coordinate and seamlessly weaves together designs from the adjacent spaces to create a cohesive integration into the ship, making Surfside an enticing and lively destination.
Situated as the aft atrium of the ship, Surfside is a kaleidoscope of color and energy. At its heart lies the main attraction - the aft pool, nestled under the signature arch at the stern of the ship. This pool is no ordinary aquatic space; it features an infinity-edge lounge pool adorned with island-like daybeds, providing parents with a tranquil spot to relax while their kids frolic in the adjacent splash zones.
The aft end of Surfside, facing stateroom decks, opens up to offer expansive views of the sea, creating a sense of connection with the open waters. Adjacent to the pool is the Lemon Post, the vibrant main bar of the neighborhood. Taking a playful twist on the lime theme, it combines weathered, beach-like wood construction with striking yellow and green colors, creating a visually captivating space.
Surfside Bites, a beach shack-inspired snack and ice cream station, adds to the lively atmosphere, offering a variety of snacks and ice cream. Across the boardwalk, on the portside, a playscape draws inspiration from the iconic lifeguard towers of Miami Beach, providing a fun and engaging area for younger cruisers.
In the forward area of the neighborhood, the organic meandering tile pattern of the floor opens up into a lightwell, creating a seamless flow from Royal Promenade through Surfside into the lush Central Park. Surfside stands as a 3deluxe first, where their passion for graphic and colorful expressiveness merges with the resort and hospitality experience, resulting in a vibrant and playful mix. It's not just a neighborhood; it's an immersive experience designed for families to create lasting memories at sea.
