In a maritime spectacle that blends innovation with timeless design, TUI Cruises introduces the Intuition Class - the latest ship class masterfully crafted by 3deluxe. Renowned for their groundbreaking designs, 3deluxe played a pivotal role in shaping not only the exterior, but also the open decks and key interior spaces of this nautical marvel.
The exterior of the Intuition Class pays homage to Tui Cruises' signature blue hull color but takes a bold leap with a new stern development. Opening up five decks with a stunning 270° glazed view to the ocean, this area is a delicate dance between architecture and engineering due to its fragility close to the ship’s main propulsion. It houses dining rooms, vertically connected atriums, outdoor seating areas, and a bridge close to the waterline.
The open decks showcase a variety of atmospheres, from an exclusive suite sundeck to an asymmetrical agora-style infinity pool terrace to an exposed barefoot deck. The Intuition's signature 25-meter sports pool takes center stage under an architecturally striking basket-like roof structure.
The signature roof not only provides an expansive and wind-protected space, but also houses a cantilevered jogging track that elegantly crosses the pool. The terraced lounge area within provides a semi-shaded haven with panoramic views of the bridge, pool and the endless expanse of the ocean.
Intuition Class is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), showcasing a commitment to eco-friendly practices. This ship isn't just a vessel; it's a floating work of art that redefines luxury at sea. The Intuition Class, with its innovative basket roof, stands as a testament to the harmonious marriage of design, architecture, and engineering on the high seas.
3deluxe designed, among other areas, an attractive open-deck landscape with multiple pools, iconic shade canopies, and eight bars & restaurant areas, excitingly nested within each other across three levels, creating ample outdoor spaces.
The task was to connect the theme of "well-being" across all four open decks for the first ship of the new class, the "MS Relax." The focus is particularly on a unique ambiance for each area, differentiating them atmospherically yet creating a visually cohesive world of relaxation, wellness, sports, and enjoyment.
The signature highlight of MS Relax is the architecturally spectacular covering of Deck 17 and Deck 18, capturing all eyes and forming a unique retreat. The transparent-white curved canopy, under which guests can enjoy direct sunlight or seek shade in the fresh air, creates relaxing light and shadow play. Below it winds a jogging track over the signature 25m pool, along with terraces featuring a selfie spot, giving the feeling of floating directly above the pool landscape.
Subtle color gradations between white, aquamarine, and natural tones, as well as thematically fitting interior elements such as wind installations on the "Mistral Deck" or the Mykonos inspired "Agora" area, underline each deck's theme in a restrained yet striking manner. This includes a large spa and sports area spanning two decks as well as a huge resort area on the generously designed outdoor decks in an elegant and inspiring setting—providing a variety of maritime inspired atmospheres, ranging from the Mediterranean to the Baltic Sea with exciting pools and water features.
On the upper Deck 19, a spa with an outdoor barrel sauna providing a panoramic view is located at the bow. 9 Bars and Restaurants designed to provide an individual setting — from the beach-feeling sundowner at the Agora Bar to an elegant lunch at "Pane et Sole" in a luxurious bohemian style to an after-workout smoothie at the Pool Bar.
It took more than 4 years of intensive planning and design work with an international team of maritime experts and partners to bring this beautiful, innovative project to live.
