Gursky club art from 3deluxe membrane wall
Within the exhibition 'Cocoon / Frankfurt ...' in Frankfurt's MMK Gursky showed works based on his engagement with the interior design of the CocoonClub.
The Cocoon series focuses on the current club culture and the big Techno events. The architectural frame is the CocoonClub, designed by 3deluxe, with its so-called membrane wall. One of the most significant design elements of the club because of the perforated multilayered composition and its low spatial surface structure. Gursky’s photo series originated from the design data of 3deluxe, thus providing the ideal approach to the original CocoonClub.
