Wiesbaden boasts a unique geothermal resource: hot thermal springs. In public perception, these are often viewed solely within a historical or somewhat antiquated context of an old spa town.
The goal of this project proposal is to position this incredibly valuable resource within a modern, urban context, as a visible part of public space and public life.
At the heart of the HotPot pool landscape is one of Wiesbaden's many hot springs. In addition, there is a non-swimmer pool for relaxed water lounging, a bar, a promenade with lounging areas, and a wooden platform that can be used for activities such as yoga classes. The HotPot is located behind the Wiesbaden Kurhaus colonnades, a scenically beautiful, centrally located area currently used as a parking lot.
The HotPot as a unique tourist attraction with high-quality amenities, can serve as a valuable tool for modern city marketing. In addition, it creates new, attractive urban offerings for residents, enabling active participation in city life. Aside from improving the urban climate, it could create a "consumption-free" space for social interaction and contribute to revitalizing the city of Wiesbaden beyond gastronomic experiences and shopping.
