A new urban landmark connecting culture, commerce, and community

With the KulturCampus Wiesbaden, 3DELUXE has developed a visionary concept for the transformation of one of Wiesbaden’s key urban sites — an ambitious project that redefines how culture, economy, and public life can coexist in a dynamic new city district.

The development site, located along Mainzer Straße and currently occupied by outdated commercial structures, sits at one of Wiesbaden’s main entrances — directly adjacent to the Schlachthof, one of Germany’s most renowned centers for youth and music culture.

Building on the city’s long-term vision to expand this area into a vibrant Cultural Park, 3DELUXE was commissioned by the REWE Group to design a forward-thinking, mixed-use concept. The study was created in close collaboration with the KulturCampus Initiative and the city’s development agency SEG.

A Hybrid Urban Ensemble

The proposed masterplan envisions a layered architectural composition that merges cultural and commercial uses into one integrated whole.

Facing Mainzer Straße, a distinct office tower expresses the project’s contemporary and sustainable character — a symbol of low-carbon construction and progressive urban development. Designed with hybrid timber structures, local energy systems, green façades, and rooftop gardens, the building will host flexible offices, a hotel, and a Hip-Hop Museum at street level.

To the rear, the cultural buildings reinterpret the industrial character of the surrounding area. Their raw, flexible structures invite creative appropriation and evolution. Planned spaces include a Skate Hall, a multifunctional event venue for concerts, workshops, and club nights, as well as rehearsal rooms, artist studios, a rooftop bar, and an art gallery.

The design supports an open cultural ecosystem — one that encourages participation, experimentation, and collaboration across disciplines.

A large retail zone on the ground floor connects the various volumes and uses. Above it, an elevated public plaza serves as the campus’s social heart — a shared stage for art, performance, and everyday encounters.

The result is a multi-layered urban structure that fuses culture, creativity, work, commerce, and leisure into a lively new destination.

Symbol of a Future-Oriented City

Beyond its architectural and programmatic qualities, the KulturCampus Wiesbaden stands as a statement of intent:

A modern landmark at the city’s gateway — a symbol of openness, creative energy, and the evolving identity of Wiesbaden.
