Official Element of the Artistic and Cultural Programme to the 2006 FIFA World Cup of the German Government. Interior and corporate design for the exhibition pavilion touring the World Cup host cities for three years.
The 2006 FIFA World Cup FOOTBALL GLOBE combined the image of the globe with the shape of a football. In the course of the three-year tour through the 12 FIFA World Cup Host Cities, visitors to the pavilion could focus emotionally and playfully on soccer culture.
3deluxe designed the interior of the football-shaped pavilion such that it transforms information poetically. An interactive 360° projection was used to capture in real-time the enthusiasm felt for soccer by current exhibition visitors and by people all over the world. By directly involving the public, the 40m collage of moving images, graphics and written articles represented a milestone in exhibition culture.
Installations offering interactive games enabled players to assume a wide variety of roles from the world of soccer and delivered information on past and future World Cup encounters.
Just like the outer surface, the visual world in the interior of the pavilion represented the conceptual link between a football and the globe. The observer found himself standing at the very center of an abstractly depicted globe that was revolving around him while a permanent information exchange was taking place on the globe’s surface.
