Club restaurant with hybrid concept of utilisation. The straight-lined style of the interior contrasts effectively with a media ornamentation that is projected onto a grid of 14.000 strings hanging from the ceiling.
The straight lines of the cube-shaped furniture and the exclusive use of dark wood give the interior its captivating qualities. The graphic grains in the bamboo surfaces together with their relief-like structure are particularly fascinating.
A space-filling grid of silver fibreglass tubes that hang down from the ceiling further emphasizes the geometry of the design. In order to break up its linear severity, the string matrix is superimposed with complex multi-media ornamentation.
These aesthetic beamer projections move in coordination with the music – thereby illustrating the various three-dimensional sound spaces, which the DJ produces simultaneously. They picture the evening's musical dramatics.
Square tables with benches providing seating for a total of 88 persons are located within the narrow hanging strings. While the various seating areas are separated physically they are not out of view – the open-plan character of the space is preserved. Nonetheless, each area maintains its own private atmosphere, encouraging at-table conversation.
Softly glowing glass objects on the tables produce atmospheric lighting.
The glazed entrance front offers deep views through the membrane wall into the organically shaped interior of the neighbouring CocoonClub.
In 2005 the CocoonClub was awarded with the Grand Prix in the category 'The Good Network' within the competition 'Gute Gestaltung 06' by Deutscher Designer Club and received the 'Sinus - Systems Integration Award' in the category 'Entertainment' from Messe Frankfurt.
